The first look at College Football ’26 was released Thursday morning in the form of an extended clip via EA Sports’ social media channels. And Penn State, one of the anticipated top teams in the game ahead of the 2025 campaign, is featured heavily.

Within the first frames, Nittany Lions head coach James Franklin is seen (with a grey goatee?) bringing his team through the Beaver Stadium tunnel, locked arm in arm with Khalil Dinkins and Henry Boehme. Last year’s scenes of Nick Singleton celebrating a touchdown in the Beaver Stadium end zone, and the Nittany Lion mascot doing push-ups and leading the team through the gates onto the field, are absent in this preview iteration. But, other visuals of Penn State players in action – both positively and less so – are on display later in the trailer.

First up, safety King Mack can be seen unloading on an Iowa ballcarrier at the Hawkeyes’ Kinnick Field, where Penn State will play on Oct. 18. Later, Mack is again featured less glowingly when matched up with Ohio State receiver Jeremiah Smith. Playing at Ohio Stadium in the upcoming, Nov. 1 showdown between the two teams, cornerback A.J. Harris gets beat before Mack is seen scrambling to defend a fade to the back of the end zone.

In a hypothetical Penn State is determined to reverse when the game is actually played, Mack loses the rep.

Below are a series of screenshots from the trailer, which can also can be seen here.

Game release details

Set to be released on Thursday, July 10, with preorders available to play three days prior, the game follows up on last year’s much-anticipated and successful return for the title following a decade-long hiatus.

And this year, the Nittany Lions are particularly well-represented.

Released earlier this week, both Franklin and Singleton are featured on the Deluxe Edition cover of the game across all platforms. They can be seen with other head coaches including Lane Kiffin, Kirby Smart, Ryan Day, Dan Lanning, and Marcus Smart, plus former players Tim Tebow and Reggie Bush, as well as current stars Jeremiyah Love, Jeremiah Smith, Ryan Williams, Garrett Nussmeier, and Caleb Downs, among many others on the game’s cover.
