Penn State cements its preseason hype with AP Top 25 ranking

Penn State gained buzz all offseason with a slew of players returning for the upcoming season. After those announcements in January and February, the team went further by adding three wide receivers in the winter and spring transfer portal. Now, the team has emerged from the offseason hype as the second-ranked team in the preseason AP Poll. What does this mean for the team’s chances at making a postseason run? We’ll discuss.

Next, we’ll dive right into camp observations from Thursday evening. The team hosted the media for an extended view of practice, including run game drills with the offensive and defensive line. We’ll share feedback from practice to give fans a sense of what’s going on with the team’s trenches.

Between the Lines

Next, we’ll discuss what Penn State players and coaches discussed with us during the post-practice interviews. Bauer will give us what coaches really mean by their comments in our recurring segment “Between the Lines.” This week, he’ll interpret what running backs coach Stan Drayton meant when speaking about his top running backs, Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton. We’ll follow that up with Franklin’s comments about the defensive tackle depth chart and where things stand with the d-line heading into the second half of training camp. Finally, he’ll dissect what Franklin meant when outlining the team’s “slow” start to camp.

Join us at 10 a.m. to discuss all of that and more!
