Penn State vs. FIU Recap Show | Can Penn State Star Play Loose?

The Penn State Nittany Lions Football team defeated FIU 34-0 in what was a 20-0 game in the fourth quarter. The team poured on 14 late fourth-quarter points to blow the game open and make the game feel like a bigger defeat than it felt for most of the game. On today’s BWI Live Show, we’ll discuss the game, Penn State head coach James Franklin’s comments about it since then, and then preview the upcoming week.

Penn State vs. FIU Recap

Penn State didn’t secure a “good” win over non-conference opponent FIU on Saturday, as the offense struggled to dominate in a way that fans would like. The team managed just 10 points in the first half and struggled to execute big plays consistently on offense.

We’ll discuss the positives and negatives from both sides of the ball during the game and how those things played out in front of everyone on Saturday.

Between the lines

Franklin spoke after the game about his team’s performance and then took more questions from the media on Monday during his 40-minute press confernece previewing Villanova. We’ll discuss the most interesting comments he made this week in our weekly “Between the Lines” segment.

Today, we’ll discuss his comments about the offense working on certain aspects of its attack during the non-conference season, stars overthinking their play, and an assessment of the linebackers and safeties in the new defensive scheme.

Finally, we’ll end the show, looking at the upcoming week. What do we want to learn about the Nittany Lions in the final non-conference tune-up before the bye week and Oregon? We’ll discuss that, plus your questions!
