There’s usually a massive amount of information to download and digest when scouting an opposing football team. That information doubles when you face a new opponent for the first time. This is the case for Penn State football’s first opponent on the 2023 schedule, West Virginia. The Mountaineers of the Big 12 come to Happy Valley in a non-conference clash to begin the season.  To streamline what we’ve learned about West Virginia, we’ll break the scouting report down into manageable bites over the next two weeks. Today, we’ll look at the defensive coverage unit and focus on personnel, scheme, and other vital aspects to help determine Penn State’s matchup on Sept. 2.
