Penn State wrestling Class of 2027 commit and Norwin, Pa., standout junior Landon Sidun will make his much-anticipated return to the mat this weekend at Who’s Number One. The nation’s No. 1 wrestler at 120 pounds has not wrestled competitively since breaking his hand last winter. The injury ended his sophomore season early and also caused him to miss freestyle events over the summer. But, he’s healthy now, feels like the summer was still a good one, and is ready to put his top ranking on the line Saturday night at the Xtream Arena in Coralville, Iowa.

“I’m super excited to compete again,” Sidun said. “Just a lot of training in the summer with me and breaking my hand. I just dedicated this whole summer to growth and seeing how much better I can get. So I’m very excited to show what I can do. I feel like I got a lot better this summer, just with a lot of high-level training. So just excited to get back on the map. Because I love it. It sucks watching the other people compete, but I feel like this summer was very beneficial to me to work out and just focus on growth.

“I feel like a lot of it was tech technique-based, but also I put a lot of time into feeling well-rounded in everything,” Sidun said. “I was still in the room scrapping every day, but I still had time to break it down and figure out what stuff works and what doesn’t. So I just feel like I got to add some stuff to the toolbox and just feel like I’m with just a better wrestler overall.”

Sidun will wrestle in the final bout of the night. He will face the winner of a preliminary 120-pound battle between No. 2 Rocklin Zinkin of California and No. 3 Domenic Munaretto of Illinois. The Penn State commit has history with both. Sidun beat Zinkin in the finals of the 2025 Doc Buchanan wrestling Invitational back in January. And, Munaretto beat him in sudden victory at the prestigous Super 32 tournament in the semifinals two years ago.

“I’m very excited,” Sidun told BWI.

Who’s Number One starts at 6:30 p.m. ET. The event will stream exclusively on FLO Wrestling.
