It’s senior day on Saturday at Beaver Stadium for the Penn State football team. Typically this has been a time to celebrate outgoing classes and reflect on their accomplishments as they head on to the next chapter of their lives. But, is that the case anymore?

Penn State Senior Day Dilemma

On the BWI Daily Edition, host Thomas Frank Carr looks at the senior class and precisely two members in it as to whether or not they should return for their extra year of eligibility. Some, like defensive end Jesse Luketa, have already made their decision known by accepting an invitation to the Senior Bowl. Others, the future is more cloudy. First, senior tackle PJ Mustipher exited in early October with a season-ending injury. Should he come back for one more season to put tape on film for NFL scouts? T-Frank weighs the pros and cons of Mustipher’s upcoming decision.

T-Frank spends the bulk of the first segment considering the future of signal-caller Sean Clifford. The fifth-year senior could come back for a future season, but does that do him any good for his NFL future? On the flip side, does Penn State want him back? Finally, would it be good for the team and fans to have Clifford under center in 2022? T-Frank looks at some key factors that would determine Clifford’s success based on his performance this season and some stark contrasts in critical metrics.

He also plays some comments from James Franklin about players that will directly impact that situation in the future.

Penn State Hoops

Next, T-Frank checks in with basketball reporter Dave Eckert about the Penn State Hoops team and their upset loss on the road to UMass Monday night. He gets the scoop on what happened, why Penn State struggled, and what it means for the team going forward.

They also discuss the program as a whole under first-year coach Micah Shrewsberry and what casual fans need to know as the season ramps up at the Bryce Jordan Center.
