Penn State tweets of the day
Penn State held its third padded practice of camp on Tuesday. The Nittany Lions also welcomed Big Ten Network to town for the conference television station’s annual preseason stop. Below, you can find clips to segments of the episode and also interviews with a variety of PSU personnel. During one part of the show, James Franklin was asked what he wants to accomplish between now and the opener at West Virginia on Aug. 31.
“I think the biggest thing for everybody in the country is consistency, right? We got a ton of guys that can make big plays,” Franklin said. “We got a system that will put our players in all three phases in position to make big plays. Who are the guys that can do it day in and day out?
“It was a physical practice today. And I’m starting to believe that we can be that type of team. So that’s number one, being a consistent football team. Number two is the things we already talked about. We got to be explosive on offense. And defensively, we got to make sure that we’re still disruptive and getting people off schedule.”

Quote of the day
“The first thing that jumps out about Jahsiear Rogers is that he can really run. It’s not surprising to hear that he ran multiple 4.3s at camp this summer. That speed really pops on film. He’s a guy who can certainly pull away at all levels.
“Probably, most importantly, he’s a coordinated mover who looks like he can harness that straight-line speed in a functional way. He separates really easily against his competition and also shows a well-rounded skill set as a receiver. He’s not just a one-trick pony speed guy.”
