Penn State hits the road for the first time this season in Week 6 when it travels to UCLA this coming Saturday. Then, after starting the October portion of their schedule on the road, the Nittany Lions return home to take on Northwestern in Week 7. The game, which is the school’s annual Homecoming contest, was given a possible start time of Noon, 3:30 p.m., or 4 p.m. ET earlier this year. Now, both an exact kickoff time and television network assignment are in.

FS1 will televise the meeting between the Wildcats and Nittany Lions. It will start at 3:30 p.m. ET.

Penn State is 76-24-5 in Homecoming games after beating Illinois last year. Against Northwestern, it is 16-5 all-time and amid a three-game win streak. The programs last met in 2023 when James Franklin’s side claimed a 41-13 victory in Evanston, Ill. David Braun is in his third season as the Wildcats’ head coach. His team just beat the aforementioned Bruins last weekend at home.

“Excited about some of the improvements we’ve seen within our football team,” Braun said, per the team’s official website. “This is going to be an opportunity for us to celebrate a win, and also very clearly identify things we need to improve upon and get better at. We learned that our football team can withstand some adversity. We showed a great deal of toughness and togetherness.

“The guys did just a really good job of staying the course and keeping poised. They didn’t flinch. They found a way to close out a football game.”

Penn State faces UCLA first

And, the Bruins are reeling. They are now 0-4 after losing to Northwestern. It is unlikely that they will win a game this season. Penn State is a 25.5-point favorite at BetMGM. But, the Lions are not overlooking their latest foe as they look to bounce back from a 30-24 double overtime loss to Oregon.

“We’ll practice Thursday morning here and then fly out to California,” Penn State coach James Franklin said on Monday. “Really important that we do a great job, that we get a win and get back on a roll.”
