Penn State football has announced information regarding when student tickets will go on sale for the 2025 season. It’s the latest milestone on the path to head coach James Franklin’s 12th season in State College. It starts, of course, on Aug. 30 against Nevada.

According to the Lions athletic department, the timeline to request tickets goes by class and is as follows:

Graduate Students – Monday, July 21 – Monday, July 28: Request window opens at 9 a.m. ET on July 21 and closes at 5 p.m. ET on July 28.

Senior Students – Tuesday, July 22 – Tuesday, July 29:Request window opens at 9 a.m. ET on July 22 and closes at 5 p.m. ET on July 29.

Junior Students – Wednesday, July 23 – Wednesday, July 30: Request window opens at 9 a.m. ET on July 23 and closes at 5 p.m. ET on July 30.

Sophomore Students – Thursday, July 24 – Thursday, July 31: Request window opens at 9 a.m. ET on July 24 and closes at 5 p.m. ET on July 31.

Freshmen Students – Friday, July 25 – Friday, Aug. 1: Request window opens at 9 a.m. ET on July 25 and closes at 5 p.m. ET on August 1.

Payment will be taken at the time of the request. Penn State football student season tickets cost $246 for the Lions’ seven home games.

After the last request window closes on Aug. 1, a lottery system will be used to pick who gets student tickets. Results of the lottery will be emailed to requesters during the week of Aug. 4, Penn State says.

Quote of the day

“I call it Gretzky. How did you score so many goals? And he said, it’s because I went to where the puck was going to be, not where it is.

“So in this system, when linebackers can learn [that when] I make a call [and] the offense runs this play, the ball is going to end up over here. You know what I mean? They start to learn that, and then they play faster and get to get to that spot. So there are some real, directed approaches where, once they learn it, they know where the ball is going to end up, and they get really effective.”
