The schedule is out for the Big Ten Network’s annual training camp show tour. Host Dave Revsine and analysts Gerry DiNardo and Howard Griffith, among others, will make a stop at every conference school between Aug. 1 and Aug. 22. The Big Ten’s television arm will be at Penn State on Tue., Aug. 5. The show will first air at 12:00 AM ET on Wed., Aug. 6. If you don’t set your DVR for that broadcast time, the program — which typically features interviews with James Franklin, some or all of the coordinators, and select players in addition to practice highlights and commentary from the show’s cast — will re-air at 2, 4, and 9 a.m. ET on Aug. 6. Other programming times could be added.

The Nittany Lions kicked off preseason camp back on Wednesday. They continue with practices this weekend en route to their season-opener with Nevada on Aug. 30 at Beaver Stadium.

“This is the best combined personnel that I think we’ve had at Penn State, and when I talk about personnel, I’m talking about players and staff, from a depth, from a talent standpoint, and from an experience standpoint,” Franklin said at Big Ten Media Days last week. “So we’re very excited about that.”

“There’s a ton of conversations that are happening nationally. We embrace that. We’ve earned that based on what we’ve been able to do and what we’ve got coming back. There’s a lot of people that are excited on a national level talking about us.

“The reality is, when it comes to the Lasch Football Building or when it comes to local, these are always the expectations at Penn State.”

Quote of the day

“I think we all came back for a reason. Everybody has different personal goals, and I think they all wanted one more go at it together. They had things they wanted to achieve in their careers that maybe they haven’t so far, and they want to run it back one more time.

“What a great opportunity to come back to a place that – with all the guys returning – I thought we had a really special group. I had that in the back of my mind. There are a lot of things that I wanted to have one more go at and hopefully accomplish this year.”
