Where do Penn State's top 2027 recruits now rank in the updated Rivals300?

The updated Rivals300 for the Class of 2027 was released on Wednesday, as Penn State fans should expect, there’s no shortage of notable names who made the list. Between players the staff has already offered, plus a few others who have visited previously, we counted more than 110 players that head coach James Franklin and his staff have varying levels of interest in.
Of course, the 2027 class is off to an excellent start, as Penn State holds three commitments already, all of whom rank among the top 32 players in the country. There’s a long way to go until these rankings are finalized, but if they all remain that high over the next year and a half, all three would ultimately earn five-star ratings.

McKeesport running back Kemon Spell remains the top-ranked player among that group at No. 8 overall nationally. Not only is he the No. 1-ranked player in Pennsylvania, but he remains the top-ranked running back in the country according to Rivals.
Offensive tackle Layton von Brandt moved up just a few spots to No. 29 nationally, keeping him as the No. 1 player in Delaware for the class and the sixth-ranked offensive tackle nationally. Penn State’s other commit, wide receiver Khalil Taylor, moved down to No. 32 in the country. He went from the third-ranked wide receiver to seventh.
Of course, there are plenty of notable names that Penn State is still pursuing. Among the top-100 players, there are a handful of very good offensive line prospects in the region, including Maxwell Hiller (No. 25), Oluwasemilore Olubobola (No. 42), and Terrance Smith (No. 89). Hiller and Smith both reside in Pennsylvania, while Olubobola plays at St. Peter’s Prep in New Jersey. Pottstown, Pa., wide receiver Matthew Gregory also remains one of the top prospects in the country at No. 39 overall.
