Did Penn State stay at No. 2 in the latest AP Top 25 heading into White Out vs. Oregon?

Penn State’s biggest home game of the season has arrived, and the stakes couldn’t be higher. Following Sunday’s updated Associated Press Poll, the Nittany Lions come into last season’s Big Ten Championship rematch against Oregon ranked No. 3 in the Associated Press Poll. Penn State was previously at No. 2 in the poll, but with Miami earning another quality win, the Hurricanes have now moved ahead of the Lions. The Ducks, who beat up on in-state rival Oregon State, 41-7, are also ranked among the top programs in the country at No. 6 in the poll.
While both Penn State and No. 1-ranked Ohio State had the week off, the Big Ten featured a few interesting results this past weekend, none bigger than Indiana beating up on Illinois, 63-10. The Hoosiers are now up to No. 11 in the AP Top 25, while the Fighting Illinois dropped from No. 9 down to No. 23. The Illini have an opportunity to right the ship right away, with USC set to travel to Champaign next weekend. USC is coming off a 45-31 win over Michigan State late Saturday night and are now up to No. 21 in the poll. No. 19 Michigan also went on the road to beat Nebraska, 30-27.

In addition to Penn State vs. Oregon, the SEC features two intriguing Top 25 matchups next Saturday, with No. 4 LSU traveling to No. 13 Ole Miss for a 3:30 pm ET start on ABC. That game leads into No. 17 Alabama traveling to No. 5 Georgia for a showdown in Athens. The Crimson Tide and Bulldogs play at the same time as Penn State-Oregon.
