Where does Penn State now stand in On3 2026 Industry Football Team Recruiting Rankings?

Penn State football’s haul in the Class of 2026 grew by one on Tuesday afternoon with the pledge of Ben Eziuka. The nation’s No. 743 overall ranked prospect in the cycle, rated as a three-star, the No. 73-ranked interior offensive lineman, and the No. 11-ranked player in Michigan, built the Nittany Lions’ commitments to 18.
At this point in the recruiting cycle, Eziuka’s pledge does not alter Penn State’s team score in the updated On3 2026 Industry Ranking Football Team Recruiting Rankings. Currently using the nine highest-ranked commitments to average out the rankings score, Eziuka is 16th overall player in the Nittany Lions’ class, ahead of only Lavar Keys and Roseby Lubintus in the overall On3 Industry rankings.
As a result, Penn State continues to carry a team score of 90.721. With it, the Nittany Lions are ranked No. 11 overall, boasting eight four-star prospects and 10 three-stars. The overall average score of the 18 recruits is 88.99, good for 18th.
Among their Big Ten brethren, the Nittany Lions are holding steady behind a top overall spot going to Southern Cal (94.026), with Ohio State (93.009), and Oregon (91.023) the only other programs ahead at this point. Behind Penn State, Michigan checks in at No. 18 overall (88.701), while Iowa rounds out the national Top 25 with a score of 88.212 behind the Hawkeyes’ nine total commitments.

1) We use the Industry Rankings, which puts together all four major recruiting sites – On3, 247, Rivals and ESPN – to find a cumulative score for each prospect. It’s not just based on On3’s rankings.
2) On3’s Team Recruiting Rankings solve the problem of varying class sizes during the recruiting cycle by totaling the highest-rated commitments for each team based on a rolling average of current total commitments among Power Four schools. That average is currently just seven players since it’s still early in the cycle.
That second point is a major difference compared to 247Sports and Rivals, with both of those sites using a point system that grows throughout the cycle. Because of that, classes that have the most commitments oftentimes rate higher early in the cycle compared to where they finish. On3’s system is designed to give a more accurate projection throughout the cycle of where a particular school is on pace to finish.
