Which Penn State wrestling commits are competing at Super 32 this weekend? Bracket draws, schedule and more

Two future Penn State wrestlers will take the mat this weekend at the prestigious Super 32 tournament in Greensboro, N.C. Class of 2027 commit Landon Sidun was to compete in the 120-pound bracket. But, he did not take the mat despite being the No. 1 seed when action started this morning. Class of 2026 commit Sam Herring and Class of 2027 pledge Gavin Mangano are in the 138-pound bracket.
Sidun, a junior from Norwin, Pa., was the lone number one seed among the trio, according to MatScouts. He recently defended his top spot in the weight class at Who’s Number One. There, he beat California senior Rocklin Zinkin by major decision, 13-4. Zinkin is the new No. 1 seed at the Super 32 tournament. Dom Munaretto, who Zinkin beat for a shot at Sidun at Who’s Number One, is the two seed. Zinkin is committed to Oklahoma State. And, Munaretto is committed to Ohio State.
Sidun is returned to action at WNO for the first time since breaking his hand last February. It ended his sophomore season early.

“I’m super excited to compete again,” Sidun told BWI earlier this month after committing to Penn State. “Just a lot of training in the summer with me and breaking my hand. I just dedicated this whole summer to growth and seeing how much better I can get. So I’m very excited to show what I can do. I feel like I got a lot better this summer, just with a lot of high-level training. So just excited to get back on the map. Because I love it. It sucks watching the other people compete, but I feel like this summer was very beneficial to me to work out and just focus on growth.
“I feel like a lot of it was tech technique-based, but also I put a lot of time into feeling well-rounded in everything,” Sidun said. “I was still in the room scrapping every day, but I still had time to break it down and figure out what stuff works and what doesn’t. So I just feel like I got to add some stuff to the toolbox and just feel like I’m with just a better wrestler overall.”

At 138 pounds, Herring, a senior from Johnstown Bishop McCort, is the No. 2 seed. Mangano, a junior from New York, is No. 3. Both are behind top-seeded Minnesota commit and senior Tyler Dekraker. Unless the seeds change, Herring and Mangano could possibly meet in the semifinals. Herring finished fifth at this event a year ago.
