Wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers flips commitment from Penn State to Oklahoma

Wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers became the latest 2026 recruit to back out of his commitment to Penn State on Monday, announcing that he’s now committed to Oklahoma.
A 5-foot-10, 175-pound receiver from Appoquinimink in Delaware, Rogers emerged on Penn State’s radar in June 2024 when he participated in a 7-on-7 tournament. Not only can he run a 4.3-second 40-yard dash, but Rogers has also surpassed 11 feet in the broad jump, making him one of the most athletic players in the region, regardless of class.
“It’s very obvious that Jahsiear Rogers is super athletic,” said Scouting Director Charles Power. “I think you see that show up on the field in a functional way. Obviously, he doesn’t play that national competition in Delaware, but you can see the athleticism show up on the field. I think he’s shown a good skill level as well.

“He’s dangerous in multiple facets, whether it’s separating within the route or making plays with the ball in his hands. I think he catches the ball well, especially for a speed guy. It’s great to be fast, but ball skills are paramount for a receiver. So, I think he’s looked pretty good in that regard.”

Once Rogers made it clear on Oct. 13 that he was open to speaking with coaches elsewhere, a flood of news schools started showing interest. He set official visits with Oklahoma, Nebraska and Alabama but ended up switching his commitment to the Sooners following his official visit this past weekend.
According to the Industry Rankings, Rogers is ranked No. 410 nationally, No. 64 at wide receiver and No. 1 in Delaware. However, Rivals rates him much higher at No. 196 nationally and 24th overall at the position. Penn State wide receivers coach Marques Hagans was his primary recruiter.
Rogers is now the seventh former commit to completely back away from his commitment. He’s also the second former 2026 commit to switch his commitment elsewhere, joining defensive lineman Alex Haskell, who announced last week that he’s now committed to Syracuse.
