Will Penn State play in one of the most watched games of 2025?: Newsstand

Will Penn State play in one of the most-watched games of the 2025 college football season? On3’s Pete Nakos thinks so. The outlet’s national college football reporter and transfer portal insider took a crack at predicting the 15 games that will draw the most eyeballs this fall. Penn State’s Nov. 1 trip to Ohio State checks in at No. 6.
“Penn State visits Ohio State on Nov. 1 in a Big Ten matchup that will have conference title and CFP implications,” Nakos writes. “The Buckeyes have won eight consecutive games against Penn State. Drew Allar told On3 this week he does not view his home-state team as a rival. But he understands that beating Ohio State could legitimize Penn State as a national title contender in 2025. Last year’s edition was watched by 9.77 million on FOX.
““No, I honestly don’t,” said Allar when asked if he views Ohio State as a rival. “It’s a program that we really respect on and off the field, with what they’ve been able to accomplish the last couple of years. The way they produce players. It’s certainly more of a respect thing. We always talk about how we don’t have a traditional rival at Penn State. We’re an unrivaled program. That’s how we kind of look at it. We really respect that program because of all they’ve accomplished and the players they’ve produced.””
Texas-Georgia on Nov. 15 leads the list. ‘The Game’ between Ohio State and Michigan checks in at No. 2. And, a week one matchup between the Longhorns and Buckeyes checks in at No. 3.

Quote of the day
“The spring practice was electric. It’s like that every time I go up there. I usually go there every year. I love their loudspeakers and the way they keep it all moving. The energy they have, it gets me pumped up, even early in the morning.
“I also talked to Coach Terry and Coach [Anthony] Poindexter. I went through their meetings, just going over their practice, seeing what they can improve on.”
