Purdue has made a late addition to its 2024 recruiting class with a commitment from WR Donovan Hamilton.

The 6-4, 195-pound three-star recruit from Hamilton Southeastern High in suburban Indianapolis was offered on December 6th. Hamilton visited Purdue this past weekend.

Hamilton is the fourth player to commit to Purdue today, and the first high school player to do so, joining portal additions Jamarious Dinkins (Kentucky DL), Corey Stewart (Ball State OT) and DJ Wingfield (New Mexico OT).

Hamilton is the 23rd commitment in Purdue’s 2024 class, which can begin signing letters-of-intent on December 20. He also is the fourth receiver in the Boilers’ class, joining Shamar Rigby, Tra’Mar Harris and Jesse Watson. Hamilton’s pledge comes after Purdue recently saw another 2024 WR recruit de-commit: Keondre Henry.

Hamilton won the Mr. Football position award in Indiana this past season, making 47 catches for 934 yards and 11 touchdowns in helping Hamilton Southeastern to a 9-3 record. He also rushed for 65 yards and averaged 17.3 yards on seven punt returns, returning one for a TD. Hamilton finished his high school career with 102 receptions for 1,841 yards and 21 TDs.

Donovan is the son of former Notre Dame defensive lineman Brian Hamilton, who played for the Fighting Irish in the early ‘90s. Hamilton went on to play in the NFL for the Atlanta Falcons.

The On3 Industry Ranking —  a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services — evaluates him as the No. 830 overall player, No. 108 wide receiver and No. 10 player in Indiana.

On3 ranks Hamilton as the No. 99 wide receiver and No. 9 player in Indiana.
