Every Purdue fan knows it has been 44 years since the Boilermakers made the Final Four. In today’s Arni’s Birthday Zoom, we talk with former Purdue basketball manager Ed Potts, who celebrates his 64th birthday today (April 2, 2024). Potts was a student manager for the 1980 team and shares some insightful stories with host Alan Karpick (fellow manager).
But there’s much more, as Potts provided background on his famous great uncle Ray Kroc and how Potts and his family navigated the McDonald’s system in West Lafayette and Lafayette. It’s a story of family perseverance, occasional strife, and a trip down memory lane for those who lived on or near campus in the 1970s and 80s.
