First and 10 : Purdue at Michigan

As we start the week, 10 items of interest as Purdue (2-6 overall; 0-5 Big Ten) travels to No. 21 Michigan (6-2; 4-1) on Saturday (7 p.m. ET, BTN).
• Michigan has won the last six meetings, dating to a Purdue 38-36 victory in Ann Arbor in 2009 under Danny Hope. In those six losses, Purdue has scored over 20 points just one time. The last meeting also took place in Ann Arbor, with the Boilermakers losing 41-13 in 2023.
• The game vs. Michigan begins a challenging march in November that will feature contests vs. No. 1 Ohio State, at Washington and vs. No. 2 Indiana.

• Barry Odom said after the Rutgers game the plan was to use Malachi Singleton in concert with Ryan Browne. Singleton played nine snaps on Saturday. Aside from the Northwestern game when he took over for an injured Browne and played 39 snaps, Singleton’s most snaps (10) came vs. Ball State and at Notre Dame. Will he play more this week?
• Purdue is looking at the real possibility of going 0-9 in the Big Ten for a second year in a row. The last Big Ten team to do that? Rutgers in 2018-2019, which lost 21 Big Ten games in a row from 2017-19.
• Purdue is 15th in the Big Ten in defense (27.8 ppg) and 15th in scoring (22.9 ppg). The turnover margin? It remains last in the Big Ten and third-worst in the nation at -11.
• Purdue is in the midst of a school-record 14-game Big Ten losing streak. The Boilermakers’ last Big Ten road win was in 2022 at Indiana when Jeff Brohm was head coach. So, it’s 11 Big Ten road losses in a row.
