Again this season, GoldandBlack.com shares its willy-nilly predictions and half-baked takes in advance of each of Purdue’s football games.

Scarred by years of predicting uncompetitive games and understanding of the modern gambling climate — please, bet responsibly and leave the damn athletes alone on social media, losers — we are incorporating BetMGM spreads into our predictions this season.

GoldandBlack.com members, share your predictions, no matter how stupid and inane, at Knucklehead Central.

TOM DIENHART, GOLDANDBLACK.COM INTREPID FOOTBALL REPORTER

Yes, Purdue is at Washington. But the underlying clash between ex-Boilermaker coach Ryan Walters and his former school is the juicier storyline—especially since neither team has anything to play for. Get you popcorn ready and count how many time the TV pans to Walters on the sideline.
My biggest question: Can Purdue find its passing game? It has been MIA since Oct. 4th for the Illinois game, which is the last time the Boilers threw for over 300 yards. No pass game, no scoring for Purdue.
Most important player: LB Mani Powell. I am guessing he will be tasked with mirroring Husky QB Demond Williams, one of the most dynamic signal-callers in the league. If Williams runs wild, Purdue has no shot.
Prediction: Washington 31, Purdue 13

Purdue will continue to navigate the November schedule gauntlet. Unfortunately for the Gold and Black the Husky squad is a different animal in Seattle so that doesn’t bode well. Yet, Purdue’s “eye on the prize” factor is finding the right players to retain for 2026 and continuing its level of effort.
My biggest question:
Will Purdue put together enough scoring offense, not just total offense (yards) to make this a competitive game.
My most important player(s): Purdue’s linebacking crew as it tries to contain the very mobile and talented quarterback Demond Williams.
Prediction: Washington 28, Purdue 10

DUB JELLISON, GOLDANDBLACK.COM FOOTBALL REPORTER

This one comes with some fun storylines. Washington defensive coordinator Ryan Walters going up against the team he coached a year ago, Barry Odom facing off against his brother, Brian, who is the inside linebackers coach for the Huskies.

Odom and the Boilermakers will face another tall task heading to the West coast, where they have not won in a long, long time.

My biggest question: Will Purdue show more fight? Last week was the first time it felt like Purdue wasn’t in that game at all. The rest of the losses have been somewhat competitive.
My most important player: Ryan Browne. If Purdue is to have any chance in this one, Browne will have to put together his best game of the year.
Prediction: Washington 35, Purdue 7

JORDAN JONES, GOLDANDBLACK.COM DITCH-DIGGER

Nothing like traveling across the country on an eight-game losing streak. The scheduling dynamic of this game – Purdue’s seventh in as many weeks, fresh off of facing Michigan and Ohio State – only adds to the challenge. Washington’s looked much better at home than on the road, and the Purdue offense needs a jolt of life.
My biggest question: What’s the vibe on the Washington sideline after an embarrassing loss to a hapless Wisconsin team knocked it out of Playoff contention? Will the Huskies take out frustration on Purdue, or will they coast into the offseason?
My most important player: Ryan Browne. The last few weeks haven’t been great for the signal caller. Purdue will need to flirt with 30 points to win, and it won’t do so without a strong day from Browne.
Prediction:  Washington 34, Purdue 16
