After a come-from-behind victory in the first round, fate reversed itself on Men of Mackey in the second round.

Friday Beers rallied for a 73-68 win on Friday evening, eliminating Men of Mackey from 2023’s TBT. Men of Mackey held a six-point advantage at halftime, but a hot third quarter negated the lead.

While Men of Mackey led 64-63 when the “Elam Ending” began, a couple of big shots helped Friday Beers pull away and advance to the regional final.

Nojel Eastern led Men of Mackey with 20 points, making all eight of his free throw attempts in the loss. Joining him in double digits were Kelsey Barlow (14) and Indiana Wesleyan alum Kyle Mangas (13).

2023 marked the fourth TBT for the Men of Mackey, ending familiarly. Men of Mackey won their first game in each of the four years before falling in the second.

This year’s group featured seven former Purdue men’s basketball players in combination with five players who did not suit up for the Boilermakers in college.
