Post-Nebraska — Purdue coach Matt Painter

LINCOLN, Neb. — The road was lethal for No. 1 Purdue Tuesday night, as Nebraska rode buzz-saw shooting, a series of one-sided runs and a defensive effort that neutralized Zach Edey to an 88-72 win over the top-ranked Boilermakers.

Nebraska made 14 threes — only a few of which could be described as open — and got yet another game-wrecking performance from Keisei Tominaga, who made five threes. Big man Rienk Mast scored 18 and was a matchup nightmare for Purdue’s bigger frontcourt, carrying Nebraska to a fast start and an 11-point halftime lead. The Cornhuskers closed the first half on a 13-0 run while Purdue was scoreless the final 3:31.

Purdue got it down to one in the second half, but Josiah Allick answered with a three and Purdue never really threatened again.
