Purdue football 2027 recruiting hot boards: Offensive line

Purdue has made the trenches a priority on the recruiting trail early in Barry Odom’s tenure. That figures to remain the case in the 2027 recruiting class, as several priority targets have been identified.
GoldandBlack.com breaks down the targets for offensive line coach Vance Vice and the Boilermakers.

The top targets:
Dewey Young: Kalamazoo Central (Mich.)
When we learned of Dewey Young visiting Purdue this weekend, it came as somewhat of a surprise. The four-star Kalamazoo product is among the top offensive linemen in the Midwest in the 2027 class, having netted offers from Ohio State, Mizzou, North Carolina, Florida State, Auburn, Michigan State, Minnesota, and Iowa State, among others.
Purdue has a real opportunity to become a serious player in his recruitment after this weekend.
Patrick O’Brien: Archbishop Moeller (Oh.)
After visiting for the Illinois game last month, Purdue offered Ohio offensive lineman Patrick O’Brien and quickly made him a priority in the class. Pitt, West Virginia and Kentucky make up the rest of his Power 4 offers, but the Boilermakers have stood out to O’Brien, who I expect to take an official visit to West Lafayette this summer, barring an early and unforeseen commitment.
Kellen Wymer: Liberty Center (Oh.)
Another Ohio native that earned an offer after the Illinois game, Liberty Center’s Kellen Wymer, is a top priority for the Boilermakers. Wymer was pleasantly surprised by Purdue and Vance Vice has cemented himself firmly in the mix here. The issue moving forward is going to be how many of college football’s top programs also come calling. Ohio State offered previously, and now Notre Dame and Auburn have joined the race.
Mason Halliman: Lincoln-Way East (Ill.)
The final of the core four to keep an eye on at the moment. Halliman visited Purdue in September and would be a phenomenal addition for the Boilermakers in the class. Iowa leads his recruitment at the moment, but Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska, Auburn, and Wisconsin are also in the mix here.

Prospects to keep an eye on:
Jakari Lipsey: Loy Norrix (Mich.)
It would truly shock me if Jakari Lipsey is not considered among Purdue’s top targets in the class after this weekend. The Michigan native is set to be in town for an unofficial visit, and is a hot name on the recruiting trail currently. Michigan leads the way for the Michigan native, but Auburn, Kansas, North Carolina, Cincinnati, Iowa State and Boston College are also in the mix. Purdue will be among those teams in a matter of days.
Mason McDermott: Noblesville (Ind.)
A riser in the 2027 class and in-state standout Mason McDermott will be on campus this weekend and is firmly on offer watch. McDermott’s brother plays for Louisville currently, but the younger of the two is being pursued by Indiana, Iowa, Cincinnati, North Carolina, and Cincinnati, among others. He has great size, at 6-feet-7 inches and 290 pounds, and is a mauler in the trenches for the Millers. McDermott isn’t a name many know, but he will be by the time he makes his commitment.
Lual Aleu: Winton Woods (Oh.)
Another visitor expected this weekend. I would be surprised if Purdue does not offer the Ohio interior offensive lineman while he is on campus. Aleu holds offers from Kentucky, Louisville, North Carolina, West Virginia, Mizzou, Florida and Iowa State.
Ethan Posey: Brother Rice (Ill.)
Posey is set to visit Purdue on November 8th for its matchup against Ohio State and could be someone Vice and company decide to extend an offer while he’s on campus. The Illinois native holds offers from West Virginia, San Diego State, Liberty and Toledo.
Other OL prospects with Purdue offers:
Jake Hildebrand: Basha (Ariz.)
Cameron Wagner: St. Joseph Ogden (Ill.)
Jimmy Kalis: Central Catholic (Penn.)
Grady Holmes: Tabor Academy (Mass.)
Jameer Henry: Martin Luther King Jr. (Mich.)
Jordan Agbanoma: Grayson (Ga.)
Noah Nixon: Buford (Ga.)
Titus Lopati: West (Ut.)
