Three new offers dished out by staff:
A trio of visitors earned new offers from the Purdue coaching staff on Saturday during game day visits.
The most notable of which was Liberty Center (Oh.) offensive lineman Kellen Wymer. The Ohio standout added the Boilermakers to an offer sheet that also includes Ohio State, Indiana, Duke, Michigan State and Northwestern. He is also expected to visit Cincinnati this fall. Wymer was surprised by the atmosphere and staff in West Lafayette and is intrigued by the Boilermakers. We’ll have more on his trip this week.
Another Ohio offensive lineman, Archbishop Moeller (Oh.) Patrick O’Brien also netted an offer on Saturday. Purdue joins Kentucky, West Virginia and Pitt, among others, as schools in the mix for O’Brien.
East St. Louis (Ill.) has been kind to Purdue on the recruiting trail of late, with Smiley Bradford and Jesse Watson currently on the roster, while 2026 three-star offensive lineman Terrell Berryhill is set to join them next year. The Boilermakers offered another Flyer, 2027 defensive back Jabarri Lofton. The standout safety is also being pursued by Kansas State and Michigan State.
Dana Greenhow update:
As flip season is in full swing, Purdue has another recruiting battle on its hands. We’ve discussed the fluid commitments of Ar’Mari Towns and Katrell Webb, but another Boilermaker commit is potentially on the move.
Three-star defensive back Dana Greenhow took an official visit to West Virginia last month and is a legitimate flight risk. The Sandy Creek (Ga.) standout is expected to make a final decision in the near future, with the tides turning in favor of the Mountaineers here.
A departure of Greenhow from the class would leave Purdue with just two defensive backs in the 2026 haul, Emoni Smith and Raderrion Daniels. The latter of which has also had plenty of programs looking to lure him from his pledge to the Boilermakers, as well.
Time will tell whether Purdue hangs onto Greenhow, but it is looking like a flip is imminent.
Israel Abrams breaks down visits:
2027 four-star quarterback and Purdue priority target Israel Abrams spoke to Rivals/On3’s Greg Smith about his recent run of visits, which included Purdue, as well as his recruitment as a whole.
“They played Ball State and it’s different types of competition. They kind of blew them out a little bit,” Abrams said. “It was fun and all but it was one of those games that you are expected to win. So they just kind of went in and got the job done. That’s all that matters.”
Iowa State remains the frontrunner to land to Montini Catholic (Ill.) signal caller, but Smith sees another Big Ten program as a dark horse.
“Iowa State is trending heavily on the RPM and I still have my prediction on coach Matt Campbell and the Cyclones to win this recruitment. The other schools are recruiting him hard though and Wisconsin is an intriguing dark horse candidate,” Smith wrote.
Darin Hinshaw saw Abrams during the bye week, but it would come as a shock if Abrams didn’t wind up with the Cyclones. Purdue has also expressed heavy interest in 2027 QB Ben Musser, who backed off his pledge to Virginia Tech just a few weeks ago. The search for a quarterback in the class roars on for the Boilermakers.
