Purdue hires Butler Benton to be executive director of player personnel

Purdue has made a key addition to its front office staff with the hiring of UCLA GM Butler Benton to be executive director of player personnel, GoldandBlack.com has learned.
Benton has been general manager of recruiting and personnel the last two seasons in Westwood, joining the inaugural staff of then-UCLA coach DeShaun Foster.
Prior to UCLA, Benton had stops at Notre Dame, Arkansas, Georgia Southern and Michigan State, among others.
A native of Detroit who played running back at Cincinnati (2004-07), Benton worked with Barry Odom at Arkansas from 2021-22, helping the Razorbacks go 16-10 and sign back-to-back top-30 classes before working at Notre Dame in 2023.
