Purdue in the Pros: Week 12
While Purdue looks to bounce back in West Lafayette, several former Boilermakers will look to make an impact on Sundays this fall. Some play prominent roles, while others struggled their way through training camp. Today, GoldandBlack.com looks at how former Purdue players fared in Week 12 of the NFL Season.
DERRICK BARNES – DETROIT LIONS
Barnes was on the field for 66 of 82 defensive snaps in Detroit’s 34-27 overtime win over the New York Giants on Sunday. He recorded six tackles and a pair of hurries of the opposing quarterback. The Lions will host their annual Thanksgiving Day game, this year against the Packers at 1 p.m. EST.
PAYNE DURHAM – TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS
The third-year tight end lined up for 11 snaps in Tampa Bay’s 34-7 loss against the Rams on Sunday night, mostly serving as a run blocker. The Buccaneers will return home as a sizable favorite against the Cardinals on Sunday at 1 p.m. EST
CHARLIE JONES – CINCINNATI BENGALS
Jones played 11 snaps at wide receiver and was targeted once in addition to his usual load as a return man in Cincinnati’s 26-20 loss to New England. He returned three kicks for 72 yards and a pair of punts for 14 yards. The Bengals will take the field on Thanksgiving night at 8:20 p.m. EST against Baltimore.
GEORGE KARLAFTIS – KANSAS CITY CHIEFS
Karlaftis played 43 of 51 defensive snaps in Kansas City’s 23-20 overtime win against Indianapolis, recording a pair of quarterback hits. Now 6-5, the Chiefs will look to make their playoff push against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving afternoon at 4:30 p.m. EST.
MARCUS MBOW – NEW YORK GIANTS
The rookie lined up for five special teams snaps as part of the kicking unit in the Giants’ 34-27 loss to the Lions on Sunday. New York will head to New England for Monday Night Football.

RAHEEM MOSTERT – LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Mostert played 15 snaps at running back in the Raiders’ 24-10 loss to the Browns on Sunday. He carried once for two yards, caught three passes for 18 yards and returned two kickoffs for 55 yards. Las Vegas will head to Los Angeles to face the Chargers at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.
AIDAN O’CONNELL – LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
O’Connell was activated from injured reserve ahead of the Raiders’ 24-10 loss to the Browns, but he served as the team’s emergency quarterback. Geno Smith and Kenny Pickett were active ahead of him. Las Vegas will square off with the Chargers at 4:25 p.m. EST on Sunday.
TYRONE TRACY JR. – NEW YORK GIANTS
Tracy played 58 of the Giants’ 82 snaps in a 34-27 overtime loss at Detroit. He ran the ball 20 times for 62 yards and caught three passes for 68 yards. New York will head to New England for Monday Night Football this week.
CORY TRICE JR. – PITTSBURGH STEELERS
Trice finished his 21-day window to return from injured reserve, but the Steelers did not activate him, meaning he will miss the remainder of the 2025 season. He suffered a new knee injury shortly after returning to practice. Two of Trice’s three NFL seasons have been lost to injury, as he missed all of 2023 with a knee injury in training camp, and he will not play a game in 2025.
