Purdue lands commitment from LIU d-lineman

Purdue has added another piece to its defensive line via the portal, adding Long Island University’s Elijah St. John on Thursday. He has three years of eligibility. He is the 26th spring portal commitment for Purdue.
St. John appeared in all 12 games for LIU in 2024, recording 40 tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles.

The 6-1, 275-pound St. John is the sixth defensive lineman Purdue has landed from the portal in the spring: T Marcus Moore (Bowling Green); T Ian Jeffries (Arkansas State); E Breylon Charles (North Texas); T Josh Burney (Fort Hayes State); E Miles Mitchell (Monmouth).
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, St. John played at Clearwater (Fla.) Academy International, where current Boilermakers and fellow Canadians Evans Chuba and Giordano Vaccaro played.
St. John’s 84.3 PFF grade ranked among the top 10 FCS DTs last season.
