Purdue lands portal commitment from D-lineman

Purdue has added a big body along the defensive line, getting a commitment from D2 Fort Valley State tackle Josh Burney.

The 6-4, 320-pound Burney has one year of eligibility. He is the fourth defensive lineman Purdue has added from the portal in April, joining DE Breylon Charles (North Texas), DL Ian Jeffries (Arkansa State) and DL Marcus Moore (Bowling Green). Burney is the 22nd April portal pledge for Purdue.

In 2024, Burney made 22 tackles with 8 TFLS and 6 sacks. He attended Jones County High in Gary, Ga.
