QB Hudson Card, OLB Nic Scourton out today vs. Northwestern
Purdue QB Hudson Card and OLB Nic Scourton are out with injury for today’s game vs. Northwestern, per a source.
Redshirt freshman QB Bennett Meredith will get the start, the first of his career. Meredith transferred to Purdue from Arizona State in the offseason. Meredith has completed 2-of-4 passes for seven yards in two games in 2023, playing vs. Ohio State and at Nebraska.
The backup QB is true freshman Ryan Browne.
Card is expected back next week for the finale vs. Indiana from what is thought to be a cracked rib. He has completed 58.6 percent (194-of-331) of his passes in 2023 for 2,112 yards with 12 TDs and eight interceptions.
