Report: Purdue makes internal move on coaching staff
Purdue plans to promote Bilal Marshall from an offensive analyst to receivers coach, according to a FootballScoop.com report.
Purdue’s current receivers coach is assistant head coach Cornell Ford, who is expected to fill the vacancy at running backs coach following the departure of Lamar Conard last week.
These expected moves mean Purdue’s staff is complete.
Earlier, Purdue hired Fresno State’s Zach Crabtree as offensive line coach to replace Vance Vice, who was let go.
Ford was moved to wideout coach–a job he never had held–upon arriving at Purdue to accommodate the retention of Conard as Boilermaker running backs coach.
Ford has extensive experience coaching running backs. While at UNLV with Barry Odom, Ford coached the Rebel running backs. Prior to that, Ford spent 19 seasons as an assistant at Missouri under Gary Pinkel and then as assistant head coach and running backs coach under Odom when he led the Mizzou program from 2016-19.
