The 6-0, 188-pound Jones was named first-team All-Big Ten by the media and coaches and was named Big Ten Special Teams Player of the Year for the Hawkeyes. He was named a consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten return man last season and subsequently wowed scouts at the Combine by running a 4.43 40-yard dash
Jones, who began his career at Buffalo, missed out on becoming the third Purdue player to earn the Richter–Howard Receiver of the Year award. David Bell took the honor last season. Rondale Moore won it in 2018. Ohio State’s Marvin Harrison, Jr. won the receiver award in 2022.
