2026 commit Spencer Krasner earns Player & Pitcher of the Year honors: 'It means the world'

South Carolina baseball commit and class of 2026 left-handed pitcher Spencer Krasner capped off a sensational season with multiple award honors on Tuesday.
Krasner, who wrapped up his junior year at Chaminade-Madonna College Prep, was named the Miami Herald’s Pitcher of the Year and the Sun Sentinel’s Player of the Year.
“It means the world,” Krasner told GamecockCentral. “Honestly, it’s not just me, though. It goes back to the summer when we had our team workouts. I feel like it was a team effort. It wasn’t just me. I think without those guys behind me picking me up the whole season, I think I wouldn’t have had that honor.”
The Cooper City, FL, native pitched to a 0.93 ERA with 100 strikeouts and 19 walks in 59 innings. He only allowed eight runs on 22 hits throughout the season, helping Chaminade-Madonna win the District 14-2A championship.

“Honestly, I think just throwing strikes to the best of my ability was just the reason for all the success I had,” Krasner said. “I think if I didn’t attack as much as I did, I don’t know how much better the results would have been.”
Krasner committed to the Gamecocks last October. He’s one of 12 high school prospects in South Carolina’s 2026 recruiting class, which is ranked 24th by Perfect Game. It will be the first true high school class of head coach Paul Mainieri’s tenure at South Carolina.
“I’m excited to see what the guys got and how we’re going to mesh together. I think it will be good,” Krasner said. “I’ve already spoken with a bunch of the guys, and we’re a good group. I’m excited for it.”
