2027 four-star safety Kennedy Green Jr. updates recruitment ahead of junior season

Kennedy Green Jr. has been one of South Carolina’s top 2027 targets ever since the Gamecocks offered him back in March. Just three weeks later, the four-star safety out of Douglas County High School was in Columbia for an unofficial visit with teammate Joshua Sam-Epelle — a 6-foot-9, 340-pound offensive tackle who’s also high on South Carolina’s board. Not long after that trip, both returned for the Gamecocks’ spring game. At the time, Green was still committed to Mississippi State, but that changed on June 5 when he announced his decommitment. Since then, the 6-foot-2, 185-pounder has added to a list of around 30 offers from programs across the country.
