A complete look at South Carolina baseball's roster heading into fall

As summer is slowly coming to an end, South Carolina will soon shift its focus towards fall practice with a new-looking team.

After a rough 2025 season, the Gamecocks rebuilt their roster through recruiting this summer with 27 brand-new players. Overall, they have 37 players on the team, with 10 returning from last season.

Full-team fall practice will open on Tuesday, Oct. 7. South Carolina faces Charlotte and Charleston in a pair of scrimmages in early November. A few months after that, Opening Day will be here on Feb. 13, 2026, and a new season with higher expectations will begin.

With a few weeks to go until fall ball gets underway, South Carolina announced the full list of players and jersey numbers. Here’s a full look at the Gamecocks’ roster.

No. 0 Logan Sutter — Senior INF: Sutter began his college career at Folsom Lake College in the Sacramento area, where he hit .390 with 11 homers and 69 RBI as the Big 8 Conference MVP in 2023. He was also a Junior College All-American and a two-time first-team all-conference performer. Over the last two seasons at Purdue, Sutter hit .349 with 23 homers and 99 RBI in 103 career games with the Boilermakers. He was the team’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2025.

No. 2 Brandon Cromer Jr. — Freshman OF/LHP: Cromer attended Lexington High School, where he helped the Wildcats to the state title in 2024. As a junior, he hit .308 with 20 stolen bases and 27 RBI. He was ranked as the No. 2 left-handed pitcher in the state of South Carolina in the Class of 2025 by Diamond Prospects. Cromer joins his cousin, David, and uncles Tripp, DT and Burke to play for the Gamcocks. However, he’ll miss all of 2026 after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

No. 3 Patrick Evans — Junior INF: Evans, a First Team All-Region Infielder and Region 10 Player of the Year, hit .453 with 10 homers and 75 RBIs in 54 games at Florence-Darlington Technical College in 2025. He only struck out 15 times in 190 at-bats and stole 18 bases in 20 tries. But he struggled a bit with his glove, making 16 errors while fielding at an .899 clip.

No. 4 Erik Parker — Sophomore INF: Parker, a 15th-round MLB Draft pick in 2024, elected to go to college and barely played as a freshman at Georgia. He only had six at-bats and picked up one hit. As a senior at North Gwinnett High School, Parker hit .333 with four home runs. The right-handed hitter also set a new school record with 28 stolen bases in a season. He got on base at a .544 clip and finished with a 1.132 OPS. He was the No. 6 shortstop and the No. 11 overall player in Georgia by Perfect Game.

No. 5 Talmadge LeCroy — Redshirt senior catcher: LeCroy, who only played in 17 games last season, was able to redshirt and returns for one final season at South Carolina. He hit .188 with nine hits in 48 at-bats. In his four-year career with the Gamecocks, he’s hit .255 with seven homers and 87 RBI in 173 games.

No. 6 Bradley Hodges — Junior LHP: Hodges spent the last three seasons at Virginia, where he went 4-1 with a 4.71 ERA in 28 appearances with nine starts. Over his 63 innings of work, he struck out 78 batters with 41 walks. He made eight starts in 2025 and went 2-1 with a 4.88 ERA. He struck out 36 batters and walked 17 in 27.2 innings.

No. 7 Alex Valentin — Junior LHP: Valentin spent one season at Texas State, where he went 5-5 with a 6.12 ERA in 16 appearances, 11 of which were starts. He struck out 58 batters and walked 37 in 67.2 innings pitched. Opponents batted .230 against him.

No. 8 Jack Reynolds — Junior INF: In 44 games at Gulf Coast State College, Reynolds hit .369 with eight homers and 40 RBIs over 179 at-bats. He had a .446 on-base percentage and a .564 slugging percentage. He struck out 25 times and walked 23 with two additional hit by pitches. Reynolds played at the P27 Academy in Columbia.

No. 9 Will Craddock — Freshman INF: Craddock hit 10 homers as a senior at T.L. Hanna High School, earning himself 5A D2 State Player of the Year and Region 1-5A Player of the Year awards.

No. 11 Alex Philpott — Junior RHP: In his time at Florida, Philpott went 5-6 with a 7.12 ERA in 67 innings of work. In 2025, he went 3-4 in 22 appearances with three starts and had a 7.30 ERA in 37 innings. He struck out 44 batters and walked 18. Opponents hit .281 against him. He also had two saves on the mound.

No. 12 Ethan Lizama — Senior OF: Lizama spent the last two seasons at Western Kentucky, where he hit .323 lifetime with 24 homers and 102 RBI in 116 career games. He had a huge season in 2025, finishing with a .336 average, 15 homers, 18 doubles and 60 RBI. He also had a .646 slugging and .407 on-base percentage (1.053 OPS). In the outfield, primarily playing right field, Lizama made three errors and had a .975 fielding percentage.

No. 13 Amp Phillips — Junior RHP: Phillips, a Lancaster, SC native, spent the first two seasons of his college career at Spartanburg Methodist College. He transferred to USC Upstate in 2025 and went 7-2 with a 3.64 ERA across 84 innings. He struck out 81 batters and walked 29 while holding opponents to a .212 batting average. He was named the Big South Newcomer of the Year.

No. 14 Caleb Hoover — Sophomore OF/1B: In 41 games at Grayson College, Hoover hit .339 with 16 homers and 49 RBIs over 118 at-bats. He also finished with a .506 on-base percentage and an .839 slugging percentage. He was originally enrolled at Oklahoma State, where he went through fall practice in 2024 before heading to JUCO last season.

No. 15 Beau Hollins — Sophomore 1B: In his first year with the Gamecocks, Hollins hit .308 with six homers and 24 RBI in 46 games. He also finished with a .469 slugging and a .379 on-base percentage. The freshman had 11 multi-hit games, including three different four-hit performances. In his time at first base, he only made four errors and fielded at a .989 clip, tied for the highest mark amongst regular starters on the team.

No. 16 Patrick Dudley — Freshman LHP: In 12 starts on the mound, Dudley pitched to a 2.00 ERA with 85 strikeouts in 47 innings in 2025. He held opponents to a .180 batting average, only allowing 31 hits all season. Offensively, he hit .350 with one homer and 20 RBI, plus a .464 on-base percentage and .940 OPS. Dudley made the Metro All-Conference team and was the conference’s Co-Player of the Year.

No. 17 Tyler Bak — Junior OF: Bak spent the last two seasons at Wofford, where he hit .311 with a .402 slugging and .429 on-base percentage (.831 OPS). As a sophomore in 2025, he batted .311 with two homers and 20 RBI and also stole 15 bases in 17 attempts. He struck out 29 times and walked 23 in 189 plate appearances and 157 at-bats.

No. 18 Aaron Jamison — Junior OF: After spending one season at West Virginia, Jamison decided to go play at the JUCO level to get more playing time and show what he could do. In 52 games with Fort Scott CC, the sophomore outfielder batted .392 with 12 homers and 52 RBIs to go along with a .487 on-base and .699 slugging percentage. In the outfield, Jamison only recorded one error with 74 putouts in 76 total chances. He finished with a .987 fielding percentage. 

No. 19 KJ Scobey — Sophomore INF: Scobey, who had a productive freshman year in 2025, hit  .257 with eight homers and 27 RBI in 56 games. He was the Gamecocks’ everyday starter at third base, though he’ll be competing to become the team’s starting shortstop in 2026.

No. 20 Elijah Foster — Junior RHP: Foster spent two seasons at Sacred Heart, where he went 5-1 with a 4.53 ERA over 59.2 innings in 2024, earning himself All-NEC Second Team honors. He struck out 80 batters and walked 48. His numbers took a bit of a hit in 2025 as he went 5-3 with a 5.23 ERA in 72.1 innings of work. He finished with 76 strikeouts, but once again, walks were an issue for him as he had 53 on the year.

No. 21 Jake Randolph — Senior catcher: Randolph spent three seasons at Presbyterian, where he hit .299/.375/.389 with five homers and 62 RBI in 106 career games. While he hasn’t hit for much power at the college level, he’s coming off his best season in 2025, where he batted .329 with 57 hits, two homers and 32 RBI in 173 at-bats. The Vero Beach, FL native has played multiple positions, including catcher and outfield. He caught five games and played in the outfield for 17 games this past season.

No. 22 Reese Moore — Junior catcher: Over the last two years, Moore, a left-handed hitter, slashed .296/.430/.512 with 14 homers and 77 RBI in 365 at-bats. He received All-Freshman and Third Team Big Ten honors in 2024. He was named to the All-Big Ten First Team in 2025. Behind the plate, Moore has only made two errors in 107 career games while fielding at a .992 clip. He only allowed four passed balls and had one catcher’s interference. He’s thrown out six base runners and allowed 32 stolen bases, 25 of which came in 2024.

No. 23 Jake McCoy — Junior LHP: McCoy was a mainstay in the Gamecocks’ weekend rotation this year, making the most starts of any pitcher on staff with 14. The Fort Mill, SC native went 4-5 with a 6.90 ERA over 60 innings. He struck out a team-leading 77 batters but also walked 40 batters, the most of any Gamecock pitcher last season.

No. 24 Josh Gunther — Junior RHP: Gunther spent the last two seasons at Wake Forest, where he went 1-6 with a 4.92 ERA in 54 career appearances. He had a 6.32 ERA as a freshman in 2024 but saw much stronger results this season with the Demon Deacons. He finished the year with a 3.41 ERA in 29 innings of work. The right-hander struck out 47 batters and walked 18 as opponents hit .194 against him. He led Wake Forest with six saves on the mound.

No. 27 Zach Russell — Sophomore RHP: Russell made 19 appearances out of South Carolina’s bullpen last year, pitching to a 2-1 record, 5.40 ERA and 2.04 WHIP across 16.2 innings of action. He struck out 17 batters while walking 12 and held opposing hitters to a .284 batting average.

No. 28 Hudson Lee — Junior LHP: Lee, a Roebuck, SC native who pitched at nearby Dorman High School, appeared in two games at Wake Forest in 2024. In two years with the Demon Deacons, he had an 18.00 ERA in one inning of work, striking out three and walking one. He then transferred to Clemson for the 2025 season and pitched exclusively out of the bullpen, appearing in 15 games. He finished with a 5.79 ERA in 14 innings and struck out 19 batters with 13 walks. Opponents hit .192 against him as he only gave up one home run all year.

No. 29 Cullen Horowicz — Senior RHP: Pitching out of relief last season, Horowicz went 0-1 with an 8.71 ERA over 10.1 innings at Samford. He racked up 20 strikeouts with nine walks and made 12 appearances.

No. 30 Dawson Harman — Junior INF: In 55 games at the College of Central Florida, Harman hit .370 with 24 homers and 65 RBIs over 200 at-bats. He also finished with a .496 on-base and an .840 slugging percentage. Primarily playing third base last season, he fielded at a .917 clip and made 11 errors. However, his defensive numbers were much stronger in conference play as he only made two errors and had a .973 fielding percentage.

No. 32 Brandon Stone — Junior RHP: Stone went 2-7 with a 6.50 ERA in 15 appearances with eight starts. He struck out 46 batters and walked 15 over 62.1 innings of work. He had his best start on April 17, pitching the Gamecocks’ only complete game of the season against Ole Miss. He also picked up one save when he was pitching out of relief.

No. 34 Luke Yuhasz — Senior OF: Yuhasz, who spent three seasons at Louisiana-Lafayette, hit .320/.376/.578 with six homers and 26 RBI in 38 games last season. He’s a career .309 hitter with 14 homers and 53 RBI.

No. 35 Logan Prisco — Sophomore LHP: Prisco finished with an 11-2 record and 5.04 ERA in 69.2 innings at Flo-Dar in 2025. He had 87 strikeouts and 31 walks. Prisco earned himself First Team All-Region pitcher honors.

No. 37 Bryce Navarre — Sophomore LHP: Navarre pitched at Texas last season and went 1-0 with an 8.10 ERA, six strikeouts and eight walks in 6.2 innings of work. Coming out of high school, he was ranked as the No. 3 left-handed pitcher and No. 15 player in the state of Texas, according to Perfect Game.

No. 39 Riley Goodman — Redshirt freshman RHP: Goodman missed the entire 2025 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made his return to the mound this summer, pitching for the Lexington County Blowfish, where he went 0-1 with a 5.63 ERA, eight strikeouts and five walks. The 6-foot-2, 200-pounder was the No. 15 overall player and No. 5 right-handed pitcher in the state of Tennessee in the Class of 2024 by Perfect Game.

No. 40 Gavin Braland — Sophomore catcher: With injuries and struggles behind the plate, Braland was thrust into starting catcher duties as a freshman. He played in 36 games and made 28 starts as he hit .198 with no homers and nine RBI in 86 at-bats.

No. 41 Cooper Parks — Sophomore RHP: Parks struggled as a freshman, making seven appearances and pitching to a 14.14 ERA. The right-hander struck out three and walked eight in seven innings of work.

No. 44 Parker Marlatt — Junior RHP: Marlatt was a bright spot in his sophomore year as he pitched to a team-best 4.18 ERA out of the bullpen. In 28 appearances, he struck out 30 batters and walked 11 over 28 innings. His longest outing of the year came on Opening Day when he threw 2.2 innings. However, he never went more than two innings in any of his other relief appearances for the Gamecocks.

No. 45 Connor Chicoli — Sophomore RHP: Chicoli spent his freshman season at Georgia Tech in 2025. He made 14 appearances and five starts on the mound for the Yellow Jackets. He went 1-1 with a 5.46 ERA and struck out 18 batters with five walks in 28 innings. The Class of 2024 product was ranked as the No. 4 right-handed pitcher and No. 10 overall player in the state of North Carolina, according to Perfect Game.

No. 47 Josh Gregoire — Junior RHP: Gregoire was the first transfer to commit to the Gamecocks during the offseason. Pitching at Louisiana-Monroe in 2025, the right-hander went 3-2 with a 2.38 ERA in 34.0 innings of work. He struck out 40 and walked 18 batters in 23 appearances. Before ULM, he spent one season at LSU Eunice in 2024, where he had a 3.14 ERA with 23 strikeouts in 14.1 innings.
