Another Moravian Prep product commits to South Carolina

Eli Ellis had been teasing that another commitment would be on the way for South Carolina. It started a few days ago when he made a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that some good news was coming.
Then on Monday, the good news came when the Gamecocks received an official commitment from Abu Yarmah, a teammate of Ellis’ at Moravian Prep (NC). He becomes the third player from Moravian Prep to join the program, alongside Ellis and Hayden Assemian.
Yarmah, a 6-foot-7, 175-pound small forward from Roanoke, VA, had been committed to High Point since last summer. But he has now become the latest to join South Carolina in a full revamp of head coach Lamont Paris’ roster this offseason.

Yarmah joins a 2025 recruiting class that includes Ellis, Assemian, Grant Polk and EJ Walker from the high school ranks. The Gamecocks have been extremely active in the transfer portal, bringing in six new players, featuring four-star guard Kobe Knox, four-star post players Elijah Strong and Christ Essandoko, and three-star guard Meechie Johnson. The team’s most recent portal commitment came from four-star guard Mike Sharvajamits, who committed to South Carolina last week.
The Gamecocks currently have one player, Jordan Butler, set to return for next season. If Myles Stute’s medical hardship waiver is approved, then he will also be able to come back next year.
