Arianna Rodi becomes first South Carolina player to win Rawlings Softball Gold Glove award

South Carolina first baseman Arianna Rodi became the first Gamecock in program history to win the Rawlings Softball Gold Glove Award Wednesday afternoon.
The award is presented by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and announced Wednesday during a press conference at the Women’s College World Series. Recipients of the award are selected by the NFCA’s NCAA Division I All-America Committee after regional voting identifies the finalists.
Rodi also became the first player from the Southeastern Conference to earn the award at first base.
Four fellow SEC players join Rodi in Golden Glove honors for 2025 in catcher Jocelyn Erickson, second baseman Ailana Agbayani, shortstop Koko Wooley and center fielder Kendra Falby.

The award adds to a list of growing list of accolades for the junior first baseman. The NFCA also named Rodi an All-Region Second Team player. The honor was Rodi’s second straight appearance on an All-Region team, earning first-team honors at Charlotte in 2024.
Rodi was one of six players who followed head coach Ashley Chastain Woodard from Charlotte to South Carolina. Rodi shined in her lone season with the Gamecocks, setting a program record for home runs (16) and walks (46).
The junior started all 58 games, collecting a .995 field percentage. Rodi’s 369 putouts and eight assists in 379 chances ranked her tied for fifth in program history during the SEC era. Rodi also turned the second-most double plays in program history (23).
