Brady Hunt returning to South Carolina for additional year
South Carolina tight end Brady Hunt was listed as a redshirt senior this past season, but he’s set for another year in the Garnet and Black.
Hunt made an Instagram post on Saturday with the caption “One more go around…” along with some photos from the season.
GamecockCentral has confirmed that the post means Hunt will be back and that he’s already been granted an extra year of eligibility, per a source close to Hunt.

The possibility of an extra year in college ball was already known when Hunt landed with the Gamecocks out of the portal two offseasons ago due to the 6-foot-6, 249-pounder missing the entire 2023 season with an ankle injury.

During his two seasons in Columbia, the former Ball State standout has played in 22 games, including eight starts, and has collected 23 receptions for 190 yards. He also has two rushing touchdowns while acting as the “quarterback” on the “tush push.”
Hunt will provide a veteran presence to a tight end room that loses Jordan Dingle (out of eligibility) and Michael Smith (plans to enter transfer portal) from this year’s roster. Maurice Brown II and Mike Tyler are also currently on the roster at the position, while Caden Ramsey will join the room via the high school ranks.
