Christian Walker continues historic run against the Dodgers

A day after hitting two home runs, former South Carolina star Christian Walker smacked two more home runs on Thursday in the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-3 win against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The pair of home runs mark five homers by Walker in the three straight game. But it doesn’t end there. The last time Walker and Arizona played in Los Angeles, he hit home runs in games two and three of that series. That means Walker has homered in five consecutive games at Dodgers Stadium. That ties the longest single-season streak at the stadium with Joc Pederson, who achieved the feat it in 2015 with Los Angeles.

With 22 home runs now on the year, Walker has hit the second most homers by any player in the National League. Of those 22 long balls, nine have come against the Dodgers.
A fourth round draft pick by the Baltimore Orioles in 2012, Walker is in his 11th MLB season since being called up in 2014. A member of the Diamondbacks since 2017, he’s on pace to set new personal best for home runs and RBIs in a season. Currently batting .271, that’s also the same average he finished with in 2020, which remains the best of his career.
The two-time defending Gold Glover winner and the Diamondbacks will be back in action Friday night on the road against the San Diego Padres.
