DB target from Alabama sets South Carolina official fresh off recent visit

A couple of days after his first-ever visit to South Carolina an emerging Gamecocks’ defensive back target has set an official visit with the program.
Birmingham (Ala.) Woodlawn class of 2026 three-star DB Kejiaun “KJ” Johnson announced on Thursday that he’ll be in Columbia for an official the weekend of May 30.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pounder visited South Carolina on Tuesday and has already set a return trip for April 12.
“South Carolina visit was good, great place,” Johnson said of what stood out on this visit. “Great facility. Top tier. Competitive players with great coaching on offense and defense. And everybody is genuine.”

The recruiting process is starting to come into focus for Johnson after it was a little slow-moving at first. But now the SEC is after him.
In addition to his South Carolina official, he has one set with Mississippi State for the weekend of June 13 and Ole Miss for June 20. All three have offered.
Johnson also visited Alabama and Mississippi State this week.
Johnson has not yet been ranked by On3 but is a three-star prospect according to 247Sports and Rivals.
