Head coach Shane Beamer released a statement to update Robertson’s status Friday evening.
“Travian Robertson was involved in a car accident this morning. He is currently in the hospital in stable condition,” Beamer said in a press release from South Carolina Athletics. “We expect him to make a full recovery and be back out on the field soon. Please keep the families of those involved in the accident in your prayers and respect the Robertson family’s privacy during this time.”
Robertson is in his third season with the Gamecocks as their defensive line coach. He was hired on staff back on May 1, 2023. Robertson played at South Carolina as a defensive lineman from 2007-11.
The Gamecocks are set to open the 2025 season in Atlanta next Sunday against Virginia Tech.
