With less than 24 hours until South Carolina takes on Ole Miss Saturday night in Oxford, star EDGE Dylan Stewart has been added to the SEC availability report.

Stewart, who did not appear on the report on Wednesday or Thursday, is listed as questionable on Friday night.

The exact nature of the injury this week is unknown, but the sophomore pass-rusher suffered a hip injury against Oklahoma that kept him from returning for that game. He was able to play last week against Alabama.

Head coach Shane Beamer did not mention Stewart on Thursday’s call-in show.

He did, however, rule out wide receiver Jayden Sellers and defensive back and special teams standout Buddy Mack III, who were both listed as out on Thursday and Friday’s reports.

Tight end and special teams star Maurice Brown II was the lone Gamecock player to leave the Alabama game with an injury and not return. Brown was not listed on Wednesday’s report, meaning he’s expected to be available vs. the Rebels.

“Jayden will not play this weekend,” Beamer said Thursday on his call-in show. “It’s not long-term. I would expect him back for Texas A&M here in a couple of weeks. He won’t be available this week. Buddy Mack won’t be available this week, one of our core special teams players. But Moe is back, thankfully. And Nolan Hay is available, also, if needed.”

Offensive lineman Cason Henry is out for the year.

A final update to the availability report will be released 90 minutes before kickoff, so around 5:30 p.m. ET in this instance.

Sellers was South Carolina’s leading receiver two weeks ago against Oklahoma and started against Alabama. He has nine catches for 95 yards on the season.

Last season, the SEC approved a player availability injury report system for football, men’s and women’s basketball and baseball.

SEC school personnel must submit availability reports three days before each football game, with daily updates leading to a final report 90 minutes before game time. For basketball and baseball, reports are filed the night before, with an update on game day.

When schools submit injury reports, players will be designated as available, probable, doubtful, and questionable before game day. On game day, designations will be available, game-time decision or out. The model follows injury reports similar to the NFL.

The Gamecocks and Rebels are set for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday at Vaught Hemingway Stadium with ESPN carrying the action.
