Everything LaNorris Sellers said after the Oklahoma game

LaNorris Sellers threw for 124 yards and South Carolina’s only touchdown in Saturday’s 26-7 loss to Oklahoma. Read everything he had to say after the game.
Question: How frustrating is it with the constant pressure that it doesn’t seem like you’re getting much time to breathe back there?
Sellers: Yeah, I mean that’s frustrating. We’ve all got stuff to work on and all that. Not just them, but receivers, quarterbacks, running backs, it’s all of us. We’ve got to get better from that (inaudible) point.
Question: What was done this week to help you get the ball out a little bit more quickly on pass plays and help you avoid some of that pressure?
Sellers: We opened it up a little bit more (with) just quick routes. We had a couple of those screen passes. We had the screen because we knew they would be aggressive rushing, just stuff like that, quick choice routes, slants, stuff like that. So we tried to implement that a little bit more this week.
Question: What just hasn’t worked offensively throughout the season?
Sellers: We just haven’t been consistent. We get stuff going, we’re driving the ball, we’ve really just got to finish. We drove down the field that first drive we had there, but we just kind of stalled. We can’t let that happen. And then we got down there, stalled a little bit, but ended up pulling out that drive. When we get down there, when we’ve got a drive, we’ve got to finish.
Question: Last season soon you guys were able to win the last six regular-season games. Does that give you hope that you can do something similar this year?
Sellers: Yeah, definitely. All it takes is one. Last year, the Oklahoma game was the game for us that sprung us on that run. All it takes is one.
Question: What was your game plan going into this game against Oklahoma, and do you feel like you were able to execute that, or did it all fall apart?
Sellers: We just wanted to (be) quick and get the balls out quick and stuff like that. We knew they were aggressive. They do a lot on defense. Brent (Venables) does a good job with his defense. They’re pretty much the first in everything. So we know they had a stay on the field. I had to do stuff to keep us offensively on the field, make good plays, make good decisions, stuff like that. Spit the ball out when it’s there, and when they get soft, run the ball.

Question: Your brother (Jayden Sellers) was out there a good bit today. What did you see from him?
Sellers: Yeah, I didn’t see no fear out of him. He went in there, his first SC game, first really college game he got a lot of burn. I told him throughout the week, stuff is going to be there, I’m gonna spread it out there to you. Those smoke routes I told you about earlier, those were there, just a little bit more aggressive, trying to give him a ball, trying to get him hit a couple of times. He took a good one, but other than that, he was fine.
Question: Whose voices are the loudest in the locker room right now?
Sellers: Offensively, we’ve got Oscar Adaway, and we’ve got Cason Henry, who’s been banged up a little bit. Luke (Doty) is also a good voice to hear from in the locker room offensively.
Question: What was it like on the fourth down play when you threw the touchdown?
Sellers: It was just, like, you’ve got to do something. We tried to run it, and we got stuffed. It’s kind of like, you gotta take what’s there. You gotta be aggressive when you get down there. It’s not always like, you’re on the one-yard line, you’ve got to run the ball up the middle and stuff like that. If you’re doing that consistently, teams know that’s what we’re going to do. So it’s kind of like, you’ve got to spread it out, just make that play action and stuff like that down in the red zone.
Question: Near the goalline, it looks like you’re just running into a brick wall every time. What are the plans on those runs?
Sellers: It’s just really, if it’s there, take it. Dropping back, and if they have some sort of pressure, out of position, out of gaps, something like that, if it’s there, I can run. But sometimes they loop into it, (or) they have a good call in that specific moment, making me go up or go out and stuff like that. So, I mean, just a good call by them.
