Former Kentucky pitcher commits to South Carolina softball

Former Kentucky pitcher Julie Kelley has committed to South Carolina softball, she announced on social media today.
The rising sophomore from Ormond Beach, Fla. had a 4.83 ERA and surrendered 76 hits in 62.1 innings in 24 appearances as a true freshman this season for the Wildcats.

The former Spruce Creek High School standout is ranked a three-star transfer with a rating of 86 by On3.

She joins Mississippi State right-handed pitcher Josey Marron, NC State outfielder Tori Ensley, Ole Miss infielder Tate Davis, Florida infielder Alyssa Hovermale and Kennesaw State pitcher Emma Friedel as members of South Carolina’s 2025 transfer class.
Kelley is the third pitcher the Gamecocks have added via the portal as they’ll have to replace ace Sam Gress and transfers Kadie Becker and Olivia Kotowski from this past season’s squad.
