Former South Carolina linebacker Debo Williams earns training camp invite

South Carolina’s 2021 class saw another former member enter the NFL Saturday. Debo Williams has received a training camp invitation from the Pittsburgh Steelers following the 2025 NFL Draft, GamecockCentral.com’s Mike Uva has learned.
Williams becomes the third member of Shane Beamer’s inaugural recruiting class to get a pro opportunity. Former defensive tackle T.J. Sanders was drafted 41st overall by the Buffalo Bills in the second round. Marcellas Dial awaits them both in the league as a member of the New England Patriots.
Williams’ run-stopping ability and leadership intangibles will give him a chance to compete for a roster spot.

Not long after, Williams became one of Shane Beamer’s first commits at South Carolina.
Debo Williams spent four seasons at Carolina, totaling 225 tackles in his career with 18 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, and three sacks. It was the 2023-24 season when Williams racked up multiple career highs. He totaled career highs in tackles (115), tackles for loss (9), pass breakups and pass deflections (3). William’s numbers dipped in his senior season, only recording 63 tackles with 4.5 tackles for loss.
