Gamecocks women’s basketball complete perfect regular season | GC Minute: Mon. 2/27/23

It’s hard to imagine that with all the success South Carolina women’s basketball has had in recent years that they’re still accomplishing firsts. Well, on Sunday the Gamecocks did just that completing their first perfect regular season in program history.
Behind a 25-point, 11 rebound double double performance from Aaliyah Boston, USC made sure that their SEC regular season crown would not be shared with LSU rolling past Georgia 73-63. Get this, the Gamecocks hasn’t loss a game at home in 816 days.

And not that we didn’t know that South Carolina would be the No.1 seed in the SEC Tournament but it’s official now. The Gamecocks have earned a double-bye and will play the winner of Missouri and Arkansas on Friday at noon.

In baseball, it took back-to-back home runs by Gavin Casas and Will McGilis in the bottom of the eighth to help the Gamecocks complete the sweep of Penn with a 6-5 win on Sunday. USC has smacked 26 home runs through eight games and remain undefeated.
