With the college baseball season now over, the focus shifts to the summer, where many players are playing in summer collegiate baseball leagues.

Multiple Gamecocks are spending their summer playing with various teams across the country. Most are incoming players, but a few key returnees are playing as well.

Here’s a look at how those players have performed so far.

Tyler Bak — Valley Blue Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League

Bak hasn’t played since June 13. While hitting leadoff for the Blue Sox, the Wofford transfer had been slashing .600/.739/.867 with nine hits in 15 at-bats, including one homer and three RBI. He’s struck out three times, walked seven and stolen five bases without being caught yet.

Elijah Foster — Brewster Whitecaps, Cape Cod League

Foster has only made one start this summer and hasn’t pitched since June 15. In a three-inning outing, he gave up two unearned runs on one hit. He struck out one but walked three and plunked one more to finish with four free passes.

Seth Graham-Pippin — Mahoning Valley Scrappers, MLB Draft League

In his most recent outing, Graham-Pippin gave up two runs on two hits in 1.1 innings of work and struck out two with three walks on Saturday. It’s been a tough summer for the right-hander as he’s got a 15.26 ERA in five relief appearances with seven strikeouts and nine walks.

Josh Gunther — Bourne Braves, Cape Cod League

Gunther made two starts on the mound to begin his time in the Cape, but he struggled mightily and gave up 12 runs in four innings. His next appearance came out of the bullpen, where he pitched a clean inning with a strikeout and a walk on Saturday. So far, he’s 0-2 with an 18.00 ERA in five innings and has struck out five and issued seven walks. But his latest outing was much more on par with how he performed at Wake Forest this past season.

Dawson Harman — Sanford River Rats, Florida Collegiate Summer League

Harman’s bat remains strong as his summer ball season moves along. He’s hitting .347/.460/.542 with two homers and 20 RBI in 72 at-bats. He’s struck out 23 times with 13 walks and stolen seven bases in eight tries. Harman saw a nine-game hitting streak come to an end on June 23. Since then, he’s gotten back on track with four hits in his last nine at-bats. He’s mostly played third base with some time at first base and in right field.

Beau Hollins — Lexington County Blowfish, Coastal Plain League

Hollins hasn’t played since June 12. He’s slashing .238/.360/.429 with one homer and five RBI in 21 at-bats over six games. On June 4, he hit a walk-off three-run homer to give the Blowfish a run-rule win over the Boone Bigfoots.

Caleb Hoover — Santa Barbara Foresters, California Collegiate League

Hoover’s struggles have been prominent throughout the summer as he’s hitting .173 with no home runs and six RBI in 15 games. He’s struck out 16 times with 11 walks. Almost all of Hoover’s starts have been at first base, but he’s also spent time in left field and as the designated hitter.

Cullen Horowicz — Trenton Thunder, MLB Draft League

Horowicz has made four appearances with the Thunder this summer and hasn’t allowed a run in 4.1 innings of work. The right-hander has struck out two and walked two. He picked up his first save in a 5-3 win over the Scrappers on June 10. He pitched one clean inning with a strikeout in his most recent outing.

Jake McCoy — Harwich Mariners, Cape Cod League

McCoy’s strong stint in the Cape continued on Saturday as he allowed two runs and struck out eight batters over four innings. After his outing, the left-hander was released by the Mariners since he’s now reached his innings limit for the summer. In three starts, McCoy pitched to a 1.46 ERA with 25 strikeouts and three walks over 12.1 innings. He also plunked three batters, but his command proved to be much sharper.

Erik Parker — Wisconsin Rapids Rafters, Northwoods League

Parker is hitting .333/.500/.412 with no homers and 10 RBI in 51 at-bats. He’s walked 16 times and struck out eight. He’s also been solid on the basepaths with nine stolen bases in 12 attempts. The Georgia transfer had a six-game hitting streak snapped in his latest action on June 26. He was 11-for-23 (.478) with two extra base hits and six RBI during that hot stretch. His defense has been shaky, though, with 11 errors and a .761 fielding percentage in 14 games.

Alex Philpott — Brewster Whitecaps, Cape Cod League

Philpott has looked solid on the mound in three appearances this summer, striking out eight without any walks in 6.2 innings.

KJ Scobey — Lexington County Blowfish, Coastal Plain League

In six games, Scobey is 7-for-24 (.292) with four doubles, three RBI, three walks and eight strikeouts. All of his starts with the Blowfish have been at shortstop. He was invited to training camp with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team this past week. He’ll be one of 56 players who earned an invitation to compete for an expected 28 roster spots with the team.

Logan Sutter — Healdsburg Prune Packers, California Collegiate League

Sutter is hitting .345 with seven homers and 18 RBI in 16 games. He’s struck out 14 times with 15 walks. The right-handed slugger has been on a tear lately, hitting four homers in his last three games. Most of his starts have been at third base, but he’s also played some first base and left field. He’s hit in the middle of the order, typically in the three-hole with the Prune Packers.

Alex Valentin — Bourne Braves, Cape Cod League

Valentin, the latest transfer to join the Gamecocks, has made two starts in the Cape and gone 0-1 with a 4.00 ERA. The left-hander has struck out five and walked six in nine innings of work. In his last start on June 24, Valentin pitched five shutout innings and scattered three hits with a strikeout and three walks.
