How Gamecocks are performing in summer baseball league action so far

With the college baseball season now over, the focus shifts to the summer, where many players are playing in summer collegiate baseball leagues.
Multiple Gamecocks are spending their summer playing with various teams across the country. Most are incoming players, but a few key returnees are playing as well.
Here’s a look at how those players have performed so far.
Tyler Bak — Valley Blue Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Bak hasn’t played since June 13. While hitting leadoff for the Blue Sox, the Wofford transfer had been slashing .600/.739/.867 with nine hits in 15 at-bats, including one homer and three RBI. He’s struck out three times, walked seven and stolen five bases without being caught yet.
Elijah Foster — Brewster Whitecaps, Cape Cod League
Foster has only made one start this summer, a three-inning outing where he gave up two unearned runs on one hit back on June 15. He struck out one but walked three and plunked one more to finish with four free passes.
Seth Graham-Pippin — Mahoning Valley Scrappers, Draft League
Graham-Pippin struggled in his most recent outing on June 20, giving up three runs on three hits in 1.1 innings of relief. He struck out two without a walk. The right-hander has a 16.62 ERA in 4.1 innings with five strikeouts and three walks in three appearances this summer.
Josh Gunther — Bourne Braves, Cape Cod League
After being tagged for six runs over two innings in his first start in the Cape, Gunther’s struggles continued into his next start on June 20. The right-hander gave up an equal number of runs (five earned) and lasted two innings before being pulled. Command has been an issue for him as he walked three and struck out two. Overall, he has a 22.50 ERA with four strikeouts and eight free passes in four innings.
Dawson Harman — Sanford River Rats, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Harman’s bat remains strong as his summer ball season moves along. He’s slashing .333/.455/.540 with two homers and 13 RBI over 63 at-bats. He’s struck out 20 times with 12 walks and seven stolen bases in eight tries. Harman saw a nine-game hitting streak come to an end in his most recent action on June 23. He’s mostly played third base with some time at first base and in right field.

Caleb Hoover — Santa Barbara Foresters, California Collegiate League
Hoover is still trying to get himself going at the plate as he’s hitting .205 with no homers and five RBI in 11 games. He’s struck out 11 times with nine walks. Almost all of Hoover’s starts have been at first base, but he’s also spent time in left field and as the designated hitter.
