Jaden Robinson is no longer on the South Carolina football commit list.

The Lake City (Fla.) Columbia class of 2023 On3Consensus four-star linebacker decommitted from the Gamecocks Wednesday night and flipped his commitment to Florida.

The 6-foot-1, 212-pounder originally announced a commitment to the Gamecocks in early July over finalists Kentucky, Michigan and Maryland.

In-state Florida offered Robinson right before his commitment to South Carolina and Robinson had visited the Gators at least twice, Gamecock Central is told, following his commitment to the Gamecocks.

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – ranks Robinson as the No. 36 linebacker and the No. 379 overall prospect in his class. He also ranks as the No. 72 prospect in Florida.

With the decommitment of Robinson, the Gamecocks now have 16 prospects committed to their 2023 class.

The headliners of South Carolina’s Top 25 recruiting class are Roebuck (S.C.) Dorman four-star IOL Markee Anderson and Jacksonville (Fla.) Andrew Jackson four-star LB Grayson “Pup” Howard.

Even with the decommitment, Gamecocks still have the No. 21 class in the country in the Consensus Football Team Recruiting Rankings.

Markee Anderson commit was ‘statement recruiting win’ for Gamecocks

When Dorman class of 2023 four-star IOL Markee Anderson picked up a syrup bottle with the South Carolina logo on it two weeks ago and committed to the Gamecocks, he instantly became the highest-ranked prospect in the South Carolina football class.

But as On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power explained to Gamecock Central, Anderson’s pledge to the Gamecocks meant a good bit more than just that.

“I think this is a statement recruiting win for South Carolina,” Power said. “Landing not only one of the top players in the state but an offensive lineman who is coveted by other top programs, is always big. I think landing a top prospect from Dorman is big for South Carolina. I don’t think they’ve signed a prospect from Dorman since Mychal Belcher in the 2005 cycle, you’re talking about 17 years, landing a guy at what has really been a kind of a stronghold for Clemson and one of the programs in the state, so that’s obviously big for Shane Beamer and staff.”
