Conference play rolls along for South Carolina as the Gamecocks take on their first road trip of the season against the Missouri Tigers.

South Carolina enters this weekend coming off its first loss to Vanderbilt since 2008, falling to 2-1 (0-1) at home on Sept. 13. Missouri enters 3-0 as the Tigers play their first SEC game of the season.

The Gamecocks entered the week with questions surrounding star quarterback LaNorris Sellers’ health. However, the sophomore is clear to play tonight, according to South Carolina’s Friday injury report.

First Quarter

South Carolina: 0 No. 23 Missouri: 0: Defenses controlled the first quarter as South Carolina struggled to move the ball against the Tigers’ defense. Despite picking up 116 yards of offense, Missouri couldn’t find the endzone before the quarter break.

Second Quarter

South Carolina: 0 No. 23 Missouri: 6 [14:24] After nearly giving up a safety on the opening play, Missouri used a big run by Ahmad Hardy, followed by a 25-yard pass to Brett Norfleet, to set up the Tigers in the redzone. Missouri capped the drive with an eight-yard touchdown pass to Joshua Manning. Missouri missed the extra point.

South Carolina: 7 No. 23 Missouri: 6 [11:26] An offside penalty on Missouri led to a free play for South Carolina. LaNorris Sellers turned that into a 49-yard touchdown pass to Vandrevius Jacobs.

South Carolina: 7 No. 23 Missouri: 9 [5:54] Missouri broke into the redzone after converting a third down with a one-handed grab by Marquis Johnson. However, the Tigers failed to find the endzone, settling for a 23-yard field goal.

South Carolina: 7 No. 23 Missouri: 9 [3:46] Gerald Kilgore intercepts Beau Pribula on the opening play of the drive. It’s Pribula’s second interception of the season.

South Carolina: 14 No. 23 Missouri: 9 [2:31] Following the interception, South Carolina drove down the field through the air, leading to Brian Rowe Jr’s first career touchdown on a 24-yard reception.

South Carolina: 14 No. 23 Missouri: 12 [00:17] After getting into the redzone, Missouri’s drive stalled out late in the first half. The Tigers made a field goal with under 20 seconds to go to cut the deficit to two just before the break.

Third Quarter

South Carolina: 17 No. 23 Missouri: 12 [08:27] Despite driving down to the three-yard line after a 43-yard connection to Jacobs, penalties and a sack backed the Gamecocks up, forcing a 32-yard field goal.

South Carolina: 17 No. 23 Missouri: 18 [05:34] After a late hit by Vicari Swain set up first and goal, Hardy muscled his way into the endzone. Missouri followed it up with a two-point attempt, but failed.

South Carolina: 20 No. 23 Missouri: 18 [00:18] South Carolina worked out of a third and 37 to get back into field goal range for William Joyce, who gave the Gamecocks the lead back late in the third.

Fourth Quarter

South Carolina: 20 No. 23 Missouri: 26 [09:32] Jamal Roberts bounced off Gamecock defenders for the Tigers’ second rushing touchdown of the game. Missouri’s two-point attempt was successful on a rush by Pribula.

South Carolina: 20 No. 23 Missouri: 29 [01:34] Robert Meyer made a 40-yard field goal as Missouri attempted to run out the clock to extend the Tigers’ lead to two scores.
