Live updates: South Carolina: 14 Clemson: 28 (FINAL)

South Carolina and Clemson kick off in the 122nd edition of the Palmetto Bowl on Saturday at Noon EST. South Carolina enters as the defending winners of the Palmetto Bowl Trophy, while Clemson leads the all-time series 73-44-4.

The Gamecocks seek their first home win over the Tigers since 2013 and their first win over a power 4 conference opponent since September.

Saturday’s kickoff is the final game of South Carolina’s (4-7, 1-7) season. Clemson (6-5, 4-4) has a bowl game following Saturday’s contest. Both teams enter coming off wins over Coastal Carolina and Furman, respectively.

First Quarter

South Carolina: 0 Clemson: 0 [15:00]: Clemson wins the coin toss, elects to receive. Touchback. Moves the ball to the 50 on the opening play on a pass from Cade Klubnik to T.J. Moore. Punts after a third-down conversion is called back due to penalty.

South Carolina goes three-and-out on its opening possession.

Second Quarter

South Carolina: 0 Clemson: 7 [12:37]: Clemson opens the scoring with a touchdown rush from Adam Randall after a huge third down conversion set the Tigers up in the redzone.

South Carolina: 7 Clemson: 7 [11:14]: LaNorris Sellers finds Nyck Harbor deep for a 53-yard touchdown grab. The Gamecocks rapidly moved down the field through the air, scoring in three plays.

South Carolina: 7 Clemson: 14 [5:48] Klubnik fumbles while being chased in the backfield, only to recover and walk into the endzone untouched.

South Carolina: 14 Clemson: 14 [5:29]: South Carolina responds to the Klubnik touchdown in one play as Vandrevius Jacobs catches a ball in double coverage and runs to the endzone down the sideline.

South Carolina: 14 Clemson: 17 [:59]: Nolan Hauser makes 32-yard field goal to give the Tigers the lead back.

Third Quarter

South Carolina: 14 Clemson: 20 [8:32]: Clemson’s secondary continues to attack the Gamecock DBs, but the drive stalls near the red zone. A field goal by the Tigers kept it at a one-score game.
